Maple Valley residents assist in arrest of juvenile vandals

Maple Valley, Wash. – May 14, 2018 - On Tuesday, May 1 the Maple Valley Police arrested three local juveniles for vandalizing the tunnel along the Cedar River Trail adjacent to the Kate’s Ridge neighborhood.

According to Police Chief, D.J. Nesel, police were called to the trail after two residents, out for an evening walk, heard what sounded like spray paint being used and confronted three teens. The teens were caught in the act of defacing the tunnel and it is believed that the suspects are connected to other recent reports of derogatory words and hate speech graffiti found on the same tunnel.

The juveniles were questioned by police and confessed. They were released into the custody of their parents. The three teens will be charged into Juvenile Court.
