I am very honored to have been re-elected to my fourth term of office, as your representative on the Maple Valley City Council. I care deeply about the important issues facing all of us in Maple Valley such as public safety, transportation, managing growth and enhancing the economic vitality within our community. I will continue to work hard to represent you, your views and values and to make intelligent, rational and common sense decisions that are in the best interest for all of Maple Valley.

All of my adult life has been dedicated to public service and volunteerism. After 30 years of employment, I retired from the Seattle Police Department in 2007. With a lengthy career as a public servant, I know what it takes to be a responsive, accountable and fiscally responsible government. I will continue to strive to incorporate these attributes as I serve on the Maple Valley City Council.

I have lived in the Renton/ South King County area the majority of my life. My family and I moved to Maple Valley 19 years ago and we live in Lake Forest Estates. I have acquired a longstanding record of civic involvement which includes supporting the following local organizations such as the Maple Valley Food Bank & Emergency Services (volunteer), the Maple Valley Make a Difference Day Committee (co-founder and committee member), the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation (member and volunteer), Maple Valley Creative Arts Council (member), Lake Wilderness Preservation Association (member), Maple Valley Historical Society (lifetime member), and most recently, I co-founded the Maple Valley Farmers' Market. I have received the Advanced Certificate of Municipal Leadership Award through the Association of Washington Cities along with a number of other prestigious awards.
