On April 20th the general contractor completed stripping of the new 92 stall paved parking lot at Lake Wilderness Park.  In addition, the existing 83 paved parking stalls at the Lodge were re-stripped to provide a cohesive and fresh look between the two adjoining parking areas.

This increased parking capacity will go a long way toward meeting the parking demand at the Park and Lodge in time for the busy summer season at Lake Wilderness Park.

The contractor removed ten large cottonwood trees along the Lodge entry road followed by grading and                     installation of a bioswale to handle storm water runoff from the paved parking area.  Paving will begin week of         April 6th.  Substantial completion expected in early May 2015.

As the month of March came to a close, construction was proceeding ahead of schedule at Lake Wilderness Park to expand the parking area adjacent to the Lodge.

Site clearing and grubbing is complete; all underground utilities are in; final grading has started; paving is      expected to start the week of April 6th.

The project is expected to be complete in early May in time for the busy summer season at Lake Wilderness Park. During construction, the Lodge entry road and paved parking lot at the Lodge will remain open, while the gravel parking lot will be closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

March 12, 2015

Tree removal began on March 11th as the contractor removed several large cottonwood trees along the Lodge entry road to make way for the grading and installation of a bioswale that will handle storm water runoff from the paved parking area.

For the next several weeks, the gravel parking lot adjacent to the Lake Wilderness Lodge will be closed to vehicle traffic while the contractor installs underground utilities and performs grading work in advance of asphalt paving later this spring.

During this time Lodge guests will have access to the paved parking lot at the Lodge, but park visitors are encouraged to use the main park parking lot which can be accessed off of 224th Ave SE.
