Maple Valley Mayor meets with community partners to help unify response to COVID-19
Maple Valley, Wash. – March 19, 2020 – Maple Valley Mayor Sean P. Kelly organized a meeting of community partners on Thursday, March 18, to discuss how the City can support efforts to address the needs of the area’s more vulnerable residents during the COVID-19 epidemic.
Meeting attendees included City Manager Laura Philpot, Tahoma School District Interim Superintendent Mike Maryanski and School Board Member Katrina Montgomery, Maple Valley – Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce CEO Erica Dial and President Brett Habenicht, Greater Maple Valley Community Center Executive Director Mark Pursley and Board President Cathy Hilde, and Maple Valley Food Bank & Emergency Services Executive Director Lindsey Habenicht and Board Member David Hanson.
The group will continue to meet weekly to coordinate a unified effort to provide resources to the most vulnerable members of the community, area seniors, individuals who are experiencing food insecurities, and small business owners.
