Bloodworks NW is in need of Blood Donors - 6/29/2020

Post Date:06/29/2020

Bloodworks NW would like us to encourage everyone to donate blood especially during the 4th of July season.

Donating Blood during this Covid time is done by appointments only.

Here are some links to find a “donor center” or “pop-up donor location” and “schedule a donation”.

Below are some of the words from Bloodworks NW:
We have also had many changes come about and back in March, a decision was made to put a “pause” on our traditional single day blood drives which has continued through August. This was made to ensure the safety of our staff and donors. Unfortunately, we have seen a drop in blood donations due to this. We are taking things day by day and adjusting the way we operate as needed. At this moment, it’s an “all hands on deck” type situation and we are in need of groups to help encourage donations, as well as spread the word.

Bloodworks NW serves over 80 local hospitals and accounts for 95% of our region’s blood supply and in order for us to support these hospitals and the patients they serve, we rely on our community. It takes roughly 900 units a day in order for us to support Western Washington’s local patients and we are trying to meet this goal daily with the help of groups like you.
