My husband and I moved to Maple Valley in 2003, seeking a house with a larger lot at a good value. We were drawn to Maple Valley because of its beauty and have stayed because of our wonderful neighbors and the sense of community.
I grew up in the Yakima area, came to Seattle for college, and decided I couldn’t leave the beautiful water and lush environment. I worked for the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) for 28 years and spent the last several years before retirement as the Regional Purchasing and Telecommunications Manager.
My career with WSDOT provides me with a unique perspective on the traffic issues in our city and the surrounding area. I have used this knowledge to open discussions about transportation and will continue to do so. I was active in ensuring that the new Summit Park play ground will be inclusive and fun for all of our citizens, including children with disabilities. I’m a fiscal conservative and will ask the tough questions about funding and our budget in order to use our limited resources in the most efficient way possible.
My husband and I have a blended family of five kids, six grandkids and one great grandchild. I’m a homebody and I’m happiest when cooking or baking something for family and friends.
I feel very honored to serve the citizens of Maple Valley and welcome your questions and suggestions.
