The City of Maple Valley is updating the Witte Road Corridor Plan for the sections from SR 516 to SE 249th Place and SE 240th Place to SR 169. The basis for the update will be the 2001 Witte Road Corridor Study, the Maple Valley Non-Motorized Transportation Plan 2013, and the Transportation System Plan included in the 2011 Transportation Element (starts on page 42).
Witte Road is considered a “Signature Street” in the City of Maple Valley and this plan update will focus on not only providing critical pedestrian, bike and intersection improvement, but also creating a corridor that reflects the community character. The update will consider revisions to the 2001 Corridor Study necessary to reflect the realities of 2013 and beyond.
This revised plan will identify priority projects for the City to include on the City’s Transportation Improvement Plan for future funding construction. The corridor update will identify the design alternatives for the following five segments:
- SR 516 north to 222nd Place SE (Blue)
- 222nd Place SE to SE 256th Street (Pink)
- SE 256th Street to 219th Place SE (Yellow)
- 219th Place SE to SE 249th Place (Green)
- SE 240th Street to SR169 (Orange)
